18th Darlington Scout Group

What are Beavers then?

Beavers are the youngest section of the Scout Association, for 6 & 7 year olds.

Beavers like having fun, playing games and making new friends.

What do Beavers do?

A normal Beaver meeting starts with an opening activity, then we play a game. After that we do our main activity.

We might be making models, having a meeting all about pirates or indians, or learning about
the things around us.

Beavers do all sorts of fun things, and when you learn something new you'll get a badge for it.

Beavers go on days out too.

We might go to something with other Beavers from around the town, or the county.

We might have a trip of our own, or with the Cubs and Scouts from our Group.

Beavers meet in a Colony, made up of a number of Lodges.

Beavers wear a turquoise sweatshirt and the Group necker.

You can also get special trousers and a baseball cap to wear with them, or a polo shirt for when it's warmer weather.
